Dan serves as a channel of emergent wisdom, and is deeply tuned into the underworld of our human experience.
In recent times I have been recognising at new levels, just how much fear can still be a player in my life.
From the tiniest traces that sneak up and weave their way through our thoughts, words and actions, to the fear that can envelop our whole being, like we’re being constricted by a giant fist – Fear that keeps us frozen in it, so we can’t reach for our dreams.
It is completely understandable how we can get stuck in the same old routines that are unfulfilling, unenjoyable and dull. Every time we take some initiative to move in a certain direction against the grain and away from the norm, fear starts to envelop our bodies and consume our thoughts and therefore our actions and behaviours.
The bigger the leap, the bigger the grip of fear as it grasps at us in desperate a bid to dominate our lives….
Fear of failure.
Fear of rejection.
Fear of the unknown.
Fear of ones own unworthiness.
Fear of the thoughts, beliefs and opinions of others.
Just to name a few…
The tightening of the chest, the feelings of anxiety and apprehension about anything that’s outside of our comfort zone can be crippling if we can’t spot it for what it is, don’t understand it or don’t have the tools to navigate through it.
In my life up until recently, 2 polarities played out:
A – Living in the traditional working world, earning great money but not being fulfilled,
or
B – Living outside of that working world, finding my niche in life but with no solid income coming in…
It’s the grey area between those two polarities that needed to be ventured into as I rode the grooves of life into the unknown and towards living the life I new in my heart was possible.
To find out what that is, I walked away from the comfort zone of the best professional role I had ever held and the most comfortable lifestyle I have ever had. I didn’t have the faintest idea what I was going to do and what was formulating for me, but I knew there was something more fulfilling out there for me. Something that I can channel all of my passion and energy into, something that allows me to give back, whilst not having to stress about where the next funds are coming from and being able to live comfortably doing my thing.
Through every big, life changing step towards freedom though, the fear of failure will make an appearance to some degree – how I respond to that coming up is the key…
What has become so obvious as a resident of Grey Town, is that without a buffer of excess funds or the guaranteed income each week to fall back on, the intensity of fear & apprehension that can pop up at anytime is increased exponentially, through every action proposed or taken.
Sometimes we just have to take these leaps of faith – the ones that make our whole bodies contract when we think about it – into the unknown and have total trust in the universe to provide for us in new and unexpected ways that our mere minds can’t even conceive…
What would you do if you were guaranteed success in a certain field or lifestyle?
What would you do if you had all the money in the world and it wasn’t an issue? How would your life look?
By taking the leaps, you set yourself up for some tests, new challenges and tricky situations, but really, what’s the worst that could happen in the big scheme of things?…….
Failure is a myth. But it’s a debilitating myth that keeps society in check with what we’ve always done and played out in the world. Its only by getting to know the fear and thereby being able to transmute it, that we can then move onto the greater things that are waiting for us in our lives.
“Fear always needs something on which to feed. Even if we were to eradicate money from our civilisation, fear would simply find another place to hide. It is fear itself we have to conquer – not money! True success means no longer being ruled by the concept of success and failure…” – 32nd Gene Key
It takes courage to step into the great unknown of life. With each step, fears and increased instability are there to greet us, casting seeds of doubt onto our path. At any moment these seeds, if given the energy, can throw us into deeper levels of fear and panic about the very moves we are making, and send us straight back into the old rigid systems and structures that we have grown accustomed to.
This may allow us to again sleep easy at night, but keeps us yearning for something better…
Where this path is going, I don’t really know…
If I EXPECT to know, then I set myself up to FAIL…
So here’s to letting go of the reigns, and trusting in this all abundant and responsive universe to provide what we need, when we need it, so we can live the life that’s waiting for us…
Giddy up!!
